THE ANGEL OF MILL STREET Christmas eve in the late 1800s in a small New England village, crippled Uncle Ambrose makes his living playing his fiddle at the Inns. On this snowy evening, his family has prayed for his safe homecoming. Following him is the dark, shadowy form of a Newfoundland. When Ambrose falls from a bridge, it was the Newf who found him and dragged him to his home in the blinding snowstorm. The wraithlike great black dog with the bottomless dark eyes gave Ambrose's hand a lick and disappeared into the snow and dark. The 8.75"w x 11.25"h 32-page book is a First Edition, printed in 1998. The book is in new condition complete with dust jacket. It does, however, have a "P" stamped on the inside front cover, which could be easily covered with a bookplate or label. The brilliant art was created by Robert Blake with the text by Frances Weller. An essential edition to any Newfoundland enthusiast's library. BkAngel - $12.95

Taffy gets the job of delivering the mail in her valley and the entire family helps, including "Diggedy", their Newfoundland dog who hauls mail bags, among other tasks. The First Edition children's book is written by Alexandra Day with the illustrations by Cooper Edens. The 32-page hardback book is in excellent condition, complete with dust jacket. A retelling of the North Country legend of the mysterious Newfoundland Dog who swam in from the sea and climbed the craggy Gaspe Peninsula. The Newf found shelter and a kitten. The two shared shelter and life together, in good weather and bad until Kitten disappeared in a snowstorm and Newf tried to find her. Beautiful art by Ian Schoenherr with text by Marie Killilea. The Newf pictured in the book is the author's own Newf. Originally published in 1992, Newf has been long Out of Print. The 32-page hardback is in excellent condition, with very minor scuffing, and a slightly "squished" corner. The dust jacket, however, is quite the worst for wear with two inch long tears on the front cover top and bottom and much scuffing. It could be removed as the picture is the same on the cover.An outstanding addition to the Newf enthusiast's library or for the Newf lover to give to a child. BkNewf - $24.95
