Riptide Windjammer was not a common name for a dog, but then Rip was not a common dog. Certainly when Zachary's father brought home the soft and golden pup to keep Zach company, no one knew that Rip would live up to his name. Although he is taught proper obedience, the other dogs teach him to be naughty so they do not have to be obedient. Prince gets into a lot of trouble and is about to be sold when he saves their daughter from a fall into the pond. Then the other dogs want to be taught to be brave and heroes. The 32-page, 8.5"w x 11.5"h hardback was written by Ingrid Ostheeren and illustrated by Jean-Pierre Corderoc'h and published in Belgium in 1993.
