"The Puppy Twins" by Helen Wing and illustrated by Ruth Bendel is the story of two darling puppy twins and their day's adventures, all told in rhyme. It is a Rand McNally Tip Top Elf Book and was published in 1959. The book is in okay condition, given its age, with a tight spine and no marks. Part of the paper covering the inside front cover has been torn away. The pages are yellowed and several of them have small tears. A wonderful addition to any Cocker lover's library or a great raffle prize at a Cocker specialty. - $24.95

"Runaway Ginger" by Mary Elting and illustrated by Zillah Lesko is the story of Ginger and her desire to "runaway". Her owner's discovered that she wasn't really running away - she was just running out to play with her new friends in the neighborhood. It is one of Whitman Books Tell-A-Tale Books series and was published in 1949. The book is in great condition, given its age, with no marks, rips or tears. There is some scuffing on the edges and the book is pulling away from the spine (but is still attached). The hardback is 5.5" x 6.5". A wonderful addition to any Cocker lover's library or a great raffle prize at a Cocker specialty. $24.95

"Romeow & Drooliet" is by Nina Laden "With a wag of the tale to William Shakespeare" Author-artist Laden has taken her trademark wit and applied it to one of Shakespeare's best-loved plays. The tone of the text and the style of art both perfectly match the story-with hilarious results. Adults familiar with the classic love story will delight in the many references to the original play, all of which make this a rarity: a children's book they'll want to read again and again. And young chldren who know nothing of the Bard will be riveted by this funny yet touching tale about Romeow the cat and Drooliet the Cocker, two star-crossed lovers who meet by chance, marry in secret and are kept apart by a snarling rottweiler, appalled owners and the animal control warden. The clever details throughout the book belie the careful research behind this homage to true love won and lost - and in the case of this book won again - proving once and for all that dogs and cats can be friends. "Rusty The Pup Who Wanted Wings" by Gladys and Corinne Malvern. "Rusty is the cutest little brown cocker spaniel, with a merry twinkle in his eyes, and a tail that wags in the friendliest way." It was published in 1939. The book is in great condition, given its age, with a tight spine and no marks, rips or tears, and some scuffing on the edges. The inside front cover has a printed bookplate: "This book belongs to Rebecca Abbott". The hardback is 5" x 6.75". A wonderful addition to any Cocker lover's library or a great raffle prize at a Cocker specialty. $24.95

Davey thought his dog, Nic, was the smartest and fastest dog in the city. Every year the family went to a cottage on Lonely Lake in Canada. Nic had to travel in the baggage car, but when the long ride was over he was released to enjoy the summer with Davey. Nic, however, didn't understand the woods at all. He had never been in a boat, and jumped into the water after a fish was on the line. He has many more adventures in this fun book. Nic of the Woods was written by Lynd Ward. This is a special edition: the 1968 First Camus Edition. The 8"w x 10.75"h book was a library book and has the remains of the library pocket on the inside front cover and "Holy Cross Lutheran School, Kansas City, Missouri 64118" stamped on the front flyleaf. Other than that, the book is in great condition, with no rips or tears. $24.95

"Barkis" is a Cocker Spaniel puppy received by James for his ninth birthday. The Cocker puppy gets himself in trouble with the kitten already in the home. The story tells how the dog and cat learn to share as do the children. Brilliant artwork of a Cocker Spaniel is by Claire Newberry, for which she won the Caldecott Award. The 12.5" wide x 11.25" tall book (slightly larger than our scanner)is the 1998 edition of the original 1938 edition, has 32 pages and is in new condition. The dust jacket is intact without tears. $9.95

A young boy is rewarded for his sense of responsibility with a puppy. Although the boy wants a Newfoundland, he receives a blond Cocker Spaniel. The Cocker Spaniel prefers following his mother around until the new baby arrives. Things change, the boy learns a new set of responsibilities and has a Cocker puppy that stays with him always. A sweet, sentimental story about a Cocker who doesn't know who to love and who loves him. Text by Liesel Skorpen with Cocker illustrations by M.E. Mullin. Published for Weekly Reader Books in 1978. The hardback book is 6.25" wide x 8.75" tall and is in good condition, with a few scuff marks on the front and back covers. $9.95
